The Master Plan
Every gathering has 3 main elements; skills, truth and relationships.
Skill Modeled
Manhood requires many skills. Vast in their breadth. Each man has abilities that boys need to grow in. Some skill lessons might take a night, some may need repetition to gain mastery. Additionally, your group could plan for another non-group member to teach the skill, grandparents, seniors, teens. Older boys assist younger. A master isn't born, he's taught. Model, practice, repeat.
Truth Revealed
Time to learn not just from sitting quietly but to let boys plow headlong into it. Time to dispense something you are learning from or about God. Teach from passion. Recount your challenges. God teaches us through life. Unleash truth! Time to discuss, ask questions, be challenged, be a man!
Jesus taught with stories. The best teaching comes from what God has taught you and how he has changed you. Your testimony isn't just when you came to faith but the movement of God in your life. How has he shown himself strong on your behalf. What are God's attributes and how do you know him like that.
Jesus taught while doing things. What in the skill you're teaching reminds you of great truths of life or scripture. Make truth relevant and it will cling to their minds when they practice the skills you're teaching. You don't have to have everyone sit in a circle to learn. Teach truth and skills together.
Jesus taught men who taught others. Use a book, which is like having the author teach your group. You could also invite someone you know to come and teach. Involve grandparents, seniors, teens and older siblings in your group by allowing them to teach their skills or what God has been teaching them.

Relationships Forged
Doing things together strengthens guys friendship, this isn't news. Enough talk, I want to play. We reserve time in each meeting for the boys to forge friendship.
Men remain to oversee the boys activity and have some time to decompress together.
Children are given leadership opportunities as they plan the activity to do with their friends. Play will be guided to one particular activity so kids develop relationship through shared experience and don't separate into individual play.

Building from the Ground UpWe believe that just as each man has his own strengths, that your group will have its own strengths. Gutsy Guys isn't a program you unpack from a box and assemble, it's a building that hasn't been built before. We will provide you some tools will to build with. We also provide a outline, Skill development, Discipleship and Relationship Building, but you can choose design that work for your group.
